Kriti Sanon Voices Concerns About Inequality in Bollywood Opportunities

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon recently shared her frustrations about the challenges faced by outsiders in the film industry, particularly in comparison to star kids who often receive better opportunities.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Kriti candidly expressed her initial struggles, stating,

"There was a phase where I was just very restless because I knew that I had way more potential than what I could portray in the opportunities that I had in front of me."

This sentiment echoes the experiences of many talented actors who find themselves constrained by limited roles and opportunities early in their careers.

Desiring to be part of quality projects that would showcase her talent as an artist, Kriti emphasized her yearning for deeper roles.

"I wanted something deeper. I wanted something where I could just show my potential as an actor way more,"

she shared.

This longing for meaningful roles is a common theme among actors striving to demonstrate their full range of abilities.

Reflecting on her journey, Kriti admitted to feeling frustrated at times.

"I was getting frustrated because I was like, I know I can do it; I know I can kill it, but I don't have it in front of me,"

she revealed.

This frustration is a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by talented individuals navigating an industry often influenced by nepotism and favoritism.

Kriti also highlighted the disparity in opportunities, noting the ease with which some newcomers from film backgrounds enter the industry.

"At that point, I was also seeing some new faces, some of them belonging to the film background, coming in having not done anything and getting opportunities that I was like, how…,"

she expressed, shedding light on the uneven playing field that exists in Bollywood.

Having made her acting debut with the film "Heropanti" alongside Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon has since established herself as a versatile performer. Her recent appearance in the comedy-drama "Crew," featuring Kareena Kapoor and Tabu, further solidified her presence in the industry.

Kriti's openness about the challenges faced by outsiders in Bollywood adds to the ongoing discourse on inclusivity and equal opportunities within the entertainment world. Her journey serves as a testament to perseverance and determination in pursuing one's passion despite the obstacles encountered along the way.

As the industry continues to evolve, voices like Kriti's contribute to a more nuanced understanding of the dynamics at play, inspiring change and progress for future generations of actors.
